BP IC-RK 1324A is a zinc-free SAE 20W-40 multigrade diesel oil, formulated from solvent-refined base oils, together with additives providing the necessary load-carrying qualities, engine cleanliness and corrosion protection, for extended service in large engines, incorporating silver-plated components that would suffer corrosive attack from oils containing zinc additives.

BP IC-RK 1324A has been developed specifically for the lubrication of General Motors EMD and General Electric Railroad Diesel engines. IC-RK 1324A is a LMOA "Generation 5" oil providing high levels of protection and long service life in a wide range of applications, especially where oil consumption is low and fuels are of moderate sulphur level. BP IC-RK 1324A exceeds the detergency requirements of API CF and CF-2, and is accepted for railroad applications by General Motors (EMD) and is compatible with Silver plated components as the oil is Zinc free. IC-RK 1324 is recommended for locomotive applications by General Electric to their "Generation 4 Long Life " Requirements.
