Hot Metal Lubricant™ 7156 is a heavy-duty, water-based synthetic high-temperature forging lubricant. Houghton developed this product as an alternative to graphite-containing products. Hot Metal Lubricant 7156 can be sprayed or swabbed on. It is used on drop hammers, upsetters and mechanical presses. The lubricant contains high-temperature wetting agents and lubricity additives for improved die life.
